An important part of our mission is to foster a greater awareness and appreciation of classical music in young people. We regularly offer several kinds of educational programs:
- Performances in schools that introduce students to the instruments of the orchestra and to the broad range of classical music
- Occasional master classes Classics at The Merc performers or guest artists
- Support for local school music programs
- Free or reduced price tickets for students at all performances
- Coaching for school music ensembles
